InterGrowth Center

The InterGrowth Center will be dedicated to promoting the well-being of Chinese families primarily in Rockland County, NY through community development and social advocacy. By providing culturally relevant resources, education, and emotional encouragement, we will empower families to cultivate holistic wellness, preserve traditions, and build strong intergenerational relationships. Through wellness programs, parenting support, and cultural education, we strengthen cultural roots and foster self-confidence, ensuring that families thrive together. As a vibrant community hub, we will create opportunities for connection, social belonging, and cross-cultural understanding, contributing to a more inclusive and harmonious community.

Xiao Ke Tang

At XIAO KE TANG, every lesson envelops children in a rich Chinese-language environment where they explore music, art, movement, language, drama, play, and the wonders of nature. This holistic approach nurtures both creative expression and inner freedom, allowing learning to unfold joyfully and organically.Rooted in Waldorf Education principles, we honor each child’s natural development—mind, body, and spirit. Through multi-sensory exploration, artistic immersion, and mindful movement, children cultivate not only Chinese listening and speaking skills but also a foundation for lifelong curiosity, resilience, and well-being.

Healing Wisdom

Healing Wisdom Digest is a seasonal publication exploring Chinese culture and its modern relevance, covering topics like seasonal lifestyles, Chinese characters, acupuncture points, herbs, recipes, and traditional arts. It is a collaboration between the InterGrowth Foundation and the Young Acupuncturist Association of America of ATCMA. Created by Licensed Acupuncturists in the U.S., it educates and empowers readers with Chinese medicine principles for self-healing and holistic well-being.

TCM Medicinal Kitchen

This initiative blends Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) with culinary arts, offering hands-on cooking experiences and farm activities. The project will use the 24 solar terms (二十四節氣) as a timeframe to introduce and use seasonal produce to create healthy meals for the body and soul.

Join us for online classes, cooking demos, and farm trips to experience the journey from seed to plate.

Chinese Book Club and Library

InterGrowth Foundation is launching a Chinese Book Club and Community Library to provide accessible cultural and educational resources for families interested in Chinese language, literature, and traditional wisdom. This project goes beyond our regular wellness programming by creating a dedicated space for intergenerational learning, language preservation, and community dialogue through books. The book club will host monthly in-person gatherings where participants read and discuss works of classical and contemporary Chinese literature, bilingual storybooks, and writings related to Traditional Chinese Medicine, philosophy, and seasonal living. Each session will include guided discussion, cultural context, and themed activities such as calligraphy, poetry appreciation, or herbal tea tasting. The community library will house a curated collection of Chinese books for adults and children, available for free borrowing. We will also offer reading hours for kids and workshops on Chinese characters and storytelling traditions. This project expands our impact by creating a long-term educational resource center that promotes cultural pride, literacy, and connection among Chinese-speaking families and the wider community. It reflects our commitment to preserving heritage while cultivating curiosity and dialogue in a welcoming, inclusive setting.
