About the Event
Join Yu, Ning yuan, founder of World Hetu Chinese Language Curriculum, as he explores how heritage shapes identity and how families can raise confident bilingual children.
About speaker:
Yu, Ning yuan studied at Nanjing Normal University, Lu Xun Academy of Arts in Beijing, and Peking University. In 2001, he went to the United States to complete Waldorf teacher training at Sunbridge Institute, where he earned a master’s degree in education.
He later taught at the Princeton Waldorf School, Brooklyn Waldorf School (K–8), and George School (Grades 9–12), teaching Chinese, history, and related subjects.
By integrating anthroposophy with Chinese culture and combining Waldorf education with Chinese educational philosophies and methods, he created a set of textbooks titled World and Images: Chinese Language Curriculum, which has been widely loved by American elementary and middle school students. This curriculum received the New York State Arts Education Grant for five consecutive years.
